Global Sourcing and Location in Emerging Market
Relocations began in the 60s, mainly with the big multinational groups that were familiar with international transactions and had cross-border networks. They multiplied outsourcing operations first in the sectors of commodity goods that were labor intensive (textile industries, clothing, shoes, toys, electronic components etc…). They then expanded to more complex technological sectors, at the rate of technical capacities of emerging countries suppliers, and more recently to the service sector. Today, every company, big or small, are more or less confronted with the stakes in the global localisation and\or in Global Sourcing behaviour.
